Another great TV series to check out on Netflix Instant is Party Down Season 2 http://bit.ly/gHAyS3. Veronica Mars’ Rob Thomas created this gem that leads a cast of mostly wanna-be actors through their lives working as party caterers. I’ll admit that I didn’t get into the first season for some reason but now I wish it were still on Instant so I could go back and try it again. One of the biggest changes was that Ken Marino’s character (Ronald Donald) didn’t make me grind my teeth this time around.

The show is one of these meta shows about Hollywood, but not necessarily about a side we see very often in other shows/movies. For someone who could honestly care less about “the biz”, Hollywood insider shows/movies rarely interest me but the show walks a fine enough line that (some of) the characters don’t seem as vapid and fame-hungry as most celebrities seem. The main guy, Adam Scott (Henry Pollard), is very likable which seems like a difficult thing for most leads. Lizzy Caplan (Casey Klein) is also a character easily related to while still being very funny.

Fred Savage directs a lot of the episodes this season, including he Orgy Party episode which made me a little uncomfortable for some reason. Unfortunately, the show didn’t get picked up for another season which is a shame because they just started to hit their stride. What are you watching tonight? Season 4 of The IT Crowd came out last week. movies.netflix.com … So hilarious but way too short!

I’m up to episode six, which takes no time at all with this short series. I’m trying to pace it out… now it’s just like when you get to the end of a video game and never finish it. That could be just a personal issue, though.

There are some wonderfully memorable parts of this series so far… the recreation of the water park, Moss giving birth, and the Italian accent destroyed me. If you haven’t already watched the first three seasons, every episode stands on it’s own for the most part so go back and check them out.
